Swift River Energy Limited is committed to designing, building and operating our small Bala Falls Generating Station in keeping with the site’s current uses and the long term vision to develop this site as a user friendly, scenic destination point.
Swift River Energy Limited is confident our plan to develop this hydroelectric facility can be done in a manner that:

• Preserves the traditional access in a manner that promotes safe use of the island and its surrounding landscape.
• Preserves/enhances the aesthetic qualities and experience for which Bala's falls are so known.
• Contributes to Bala’s desire to improve the Town’s “in-town” attraction as a tourist destination point.
• Minimizes disruption to Bala’s important seasonal economy (either during construction or over the life of its operation)
• Operates in strict compliance with the regulatory requirements as stipulated in the Muskoka River Water Management Plan while minimizing disruption to water levels immediately above and below Bala’s dams.
• Protect local fish habitats.
