May 14, 2008: No construction work underway; recent on-site
                     drilling and field studies aimed at investigating
                     siting and design options.

Since our meetings with the community last summer, Swift River Energy Limited has been working diligently to address community concerns.

Over the past several months, our consulting engineers and environmental scientists have been conducting a number of studies to better understand the environmental conditions of the proposed site and its surrounding area. Some of these studies have required on-site drilling to assess the soils and bedrock conditions as well as ecological studies in and around the river, upstream and downstream of Bala's North Dam.

Let me assure you, any activity you may have recently seen on or around the site is necessary to determine what siting and design options may be available to us with respect to our proposed Bala Falls small hydro project.

As soon as we are satisfied that we have adequate background information to produce a technically feasible option that addresses community concerns, we will present it to the the community for comment.
